A Stroll Along Surrey Quays
12 July 2018
Vodka, my walking companion and I spent time discovering this delightful neighbourhood.
We visited Greenland Dock and savoured the sights, sounds and smells (mainly Vodka) by the water just near the Surrey Docks sports centre. it was quite magical.
We lingered by these colourful kayaks waiting to see if anyone was silly enough to upset the ducks and swans, and venture into the freezing cold waters.
All along Greenland Quay the local inhabitants waited in vain to catch some rays.
Closer to Vodka's home, the boats had arrived to be moored for the season.
The view from the other side and just minutes away from here is Greenland Pier where the Thames river boat service operates. It's a really nice way to travel across to Canary Wharf and along the river to Greenwich and into central London.
Canary Wharf sits majestically across the murky Thames from Surrey Quays. Quite an impressive view from Vodka's balcony.
Home again and waiting for our next adventure, maybe this time, slightly further afield.
