September Bullet Journal: Seed Pods Theme and Planner Printables!
I’ve been working so hard recently that I’ve had to take an enforced break and look around to realise how much has changed in both my work and personal life. So when it came to deciding on a theme for September it wasn’t too difficult to settle on seed pods … not only are they wonderfully odd and weird to draw, but they signify new beginnings, which is exactly where I feel I’m at right now.
I worked on preparatory sketches first, just to get a feel for the shapes and forms of the pods and bits and bobs. So much fun! I use the dot grid journal by Citrus Book Bindery for this as I can play without feeling that I’m going to spoil any pages … it’s such a wonderfully thick journal and perfect for daily creative writing and painting.
I’m approaching things slightly differently this month and drawing everything in black and white first before colouring in with watercolour … it’s an experiment and yes, there’s a vague reason behind it but let’s see how things go first!
NEW: PLANNER PRINTABLES!
The exciting news is I’ve opened a shop on the website offering printables for your planners and bullet journals! I’ve started off with some of the illustrations that I’ve used for monthly cover quotes and ‘Trust the Magic of New Beginnings’ is one of them.
Click HERE (or on the images below) to see it at the brand new shop, and HERE to see the other printables that are available as well. I’ll be adding more printables regularly including monthly, weekly and other spreads all illustrated by yours truly, so it’s all quite magical for me at the moment.
We’re also offering eco-friendly art prints and eco-friendly greeting cards (I did mention that I’ve been working really hard, right?!) in A3 and A5 sizes respectively, so if you’d like to take a peek at those just click on the images below.
There’s still tons to be done but now that things are finally up and running — well, started at least — I see that I’m far more focused than I used to be, and enjoying my work more than ever. Here’s to new beginnings … now I just have to water, weed, and feed those seeds, and watch the garden grow.
But right this very moment I’m exhausted, and as it’s a Sunday I’m going to take a few hours off and just for a change do nothing at all. Cheers.
